Listing Date: Sept. 2, 2025

Position Summary

Strata is looking for an extraordinarily talented individual to join our corporate finance team as our Corporate Controller. We are looking for someone excited by the opportunity to lead a growing team in accounting and developing and refining processes/systems through an exciting phase of accelerated growth as we scale from $20M to $200M in revenue over the next few years.

Strata is a private equity-backed company with a mandate to grow rapidly through both acquisitions and organic sales. To help manage that growth, our accounting team will be a key in ensuring we have accurate and insightful data for decision-making. As the accounting leader, you’ll be responsible for hiring, training and mentoring great people in our branch locations to record and deliver financial results in a timely manner each month, coordinating with branch managers across our portfolio, and supporting a budgeting process that informs critical decisions by the executive team.

To be successful you’ll need to be passionate about our business, thrive in a fast-growing company, have the management discipline to lead a talented group of accounting and admin staff, while collaborating with executive leadership of the company.

Key Responsibilities

To succeed in this role you must:

  • Lead a team of accounting and admin team members located in multiple branches across the Southwestern U.S. (CA, UT, NV, AZ, ID, etc.)

  • Develop financial processes and manage accountability to ensure proper recording of data at a branch level, and appropriate closing entries

  • Master the Aspire and NetSuite technology platforms for recording and reporting results accurately

  • Ensure branch, regional and corporate level reporting are all in accordance with company policies and GAAP

  • Lead the financial budgeting and forecasting process, and variance analysis, to support executive decision-making

  • Support monthly and quarterly Board reporting requirements by analyzing and summarizing data beyond the standard financial statements

  • Ensure correct invoicing and revenue capture, along with job-level expense entry in Aspire, and the transfer of the correct information from Aspire to NetSuite for reporting purposes

  • Hire, train, and mentor individual accounting and admin personnel in the branches

  • Support financial analysis of potential acquisitions, and synergy tracking for acquired businesses

You also have to be the type of person that craves a challenge, is unafraid to constantly push yourself outside your zone of comfort, and doesn’t require a lot of hand holding. A fast-growing company is not for the meek, but you will develop your skills more here in three months as you would most companies in a year. This opportunity to take on more responsibility and advance your career can’t be matched in larger companies.

Requirements for the lead Corporate Controller role include the following:

  • BA/BS or equivalent education. Preference for a focus in Accounting or Finance

  • 5+ years experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3 years in a controller or other senior finance role

  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite and Aspire (or comparable ERP or accounting platforms)

  • Strong understanding of GAAP, consolidation, internal controls, and audit requirements.

  • Proven ability to lead teams, implement scalable processes, and manage growth through acquisitions.

  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, and an ability to work closely with both executive leadership and field operations teams

  • A strong work ethic and desire to work in a fast-paced, fun, demanding environment.

  • Extremely proactive, with a strong bias for action
